About Me.
My name is Anna Imark and I'm currently a 3rd year student at the University of Colorado Denver majoring in Digital Design and minoring in Filmmaking/post-production. I've always enjoyed art, whether that be drawing, playing music, building with Legos, etc. I never really knew what I wanted to study in college but I knew it was going to be art related. It wasn't until my 8th grade year that my teacher invited me to join the first ever Webber Middle School Video Announcement class. I found a new interest in video editing and was responsible for one of the editing teams. In high school, I was fortunate enough to continue my video editing in RMHS Video
Announcements, and continued taking art classes on top of that. I participated in FBLA for 3 years, and one of those years I competed in the Graphic Design option, and in another I competed in the Video Advertising option. I was also given the opportunity to attend CU Denver's Summer LYNX National Arts and Media camp twice. My first experience introduced me to motion design and Adobe After Effects. The second time, I wanted to see if film was something I wanted to go into, and I realized it wasn't, or at least fully. I am really only interested in the editing portion.
While looking through college programs, I was faced with the question, do I go towards Graphic Design or do I got towards Film? CU Denver luckily gave me the answer. Their Digital Design program focuses on Graphic Design but also has a twist of motion design. I decided to pick up a Film minor, taking mostly editing related classes to help further my understanding and better my technique.
In my free time, I'm an avid swimmer and I'm currently the president and captain of the CU Denver Swim Club. It has been an amazing experience, and I've learned the responsibility of juggling the team's finances, communicating with other schools on potential meets, and leading the team through swim practices. I also enjoy skiing, traveling, playing Minecraft and attending concerts. I currently work as a lifeguard, operations associate, facility supervisor, and marketing associate for CU Denver's Wellness Center and I have an internship as the multi-media designer for the EL&D team over at Cencora.
